Malaika Arora On The Night Before Divorce From Arbaaz Khan, Says It Wasn't Easy

Parting ways with your partner is never an easy decision, especially when your relationship lasts for years. Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan too went through a tough phase before they finally decided to separate.

It was in the year 2016 that Malaika and Arbaaz announced their separation. This announcement led to a lot of stories around their extramarital affairs doing rounds. However, the two rubbished all the rumours. Their divorce broke many hearts, their fans were shattered!

Many of them wanted to know what was the real reason behind their separation. During that time, Arbaaz and Malaika never spoke of their divorce in public. However, recently, Malaika Arora appeared on Kareena Kapoor's radio show What Women Want.

The Night Before Filing Divorce

Malaika Arora shared, “I think sab ki pehli yehi raai hai ki mat karna. Koi aapko nahi kahega ki, ‘Haan, haan, please jayiye, kariye.’ That’s the first thing, ki aap soch samajh ke yeh decision lena (I think everyone’s first response is ‘Don’t do it.’ No one will tell you, ‘Yes, please go ahead and do it.’ That’s the first thing everyone says, to think things through before coming to a decision). I went through the same thing.”

She added, “Even the night before I got divorced, I had my family sit with me and ask me yet again, ‘Are you sure? Are you 100 per cent about your decision?’ That was something I heard all along and rightly so. These are the people who worry and care so they will definitely say that.”

It Wasn't Easy

Malaika also shared that it wasn't easy for her to take this decision. She said, “It’s never, ever easy, like no other major decision in your life. At the end of the day, someone has to be blamed. You always have to point fingers at someone. I think that’s the general human nature to go about things.”

Deciding What's Right

Malaika Arora thought of every pro and con before she decided to end her marriage with Arbaaz Khan. She shared that the two made this decision not just for themselves but for everyone around them. She said, “We decided, it’s better off that we move our separate ways because we would just be better people. Because we were two people in a situation making each other extremely unhappy which was impacting everybody else’s life around us.”

Life After Parting Ways

Malaika further shared that even her son Arhaan can notice how happy his parents are after separating. She said, “I would much rather see my child in a happy environment than be subjected to an environment that is completely disruptive. With time, my child is far more accepting. He can see that we both as individuals are far more happy than we were in our marriage.”

She also shared that her son once told her that he is happy to see her smiling. Malaika said, “He did actually turn around one day and he did say that to me, ‘Mom, it’s good to see you happy and smiling."

Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan's separation indeed broke our heart but we are glad that these two are now happy in their own lives.
