This year at the Lok Sabha Elections, we saw a higher number of women who contested the parliamentary seats and some have had a sweeping victory which is commendable! The biggest shocker or surprise? Smriti Irani of BJP, who contested from Amethi—home-ground of Congress Party, left Rahul Gandhi behind! That being said, let's take a look at the women winners of Lok Sabha Elections 2019.
Kirron Kher (BJP) Wins From Chandigarh
This actress-politician came out with shining colours and scored a big win from Chandigarh battling the outsider tag. She defeated the veteran Congressman and four-time parliamentarian Pawan Bansal in her debut election five years ago. When she was criticised by the opposition she told a media house that"It is my city and my hometown. I have done a lot of work here... I did not act in films for five years".
Kirron Kher, who in the film world is much respected for the body of work as an actress, beat Bansal and won by 46970 Votes! Congratulating his wife over the win, her husband and veteran actor Anupam Kher tweeted an image of her where she seems to be thanking the masses and wrote: "Congratulations dearest @KirronKherBJP for your stupendous second-time victory from #Chandigarh. It reaffirms my faith that hard work & sincerity always pays. On a personal note, I want to thank everybody especially your team in Chandigarh for their love, support & blessings."

Hema Malini (BJP) Wins From Mathura
Veteran actress Hema Malini has always been an ardent supporter of BJP and this time she even battled huge criticism regarding the images that came out with her posing with the farmers and more. However, it all goes behind as she won by 2.9 Lakh Votes against Kunwar Narendra Singh of Rashtriya Lok Dal. After her win, actually after BJP's success these elections, Malini shared her joy on her official Twitter handle and wrote: "What a clean sweep! The opposition & the Congress silenced totally! Modiji, after having suffered so many insults, many personal, stands totally vindicated as a true nationalist in whom the masses have reposed complete faith & view as a leader who can make India excel in all spheres.

She won. Yes. But what is impressive, surprising, a shocker is the fact that she won from the home of Congress! Amethi! This is least expected by many from the opposition. This actress turned politician made Congress president lose his own parliamentary seat in the Gandhi family borough is what we called a sheer clean sweep! At a press conference, Rahul said: "Smriti Irani has won in Amethi and I congratulate her. The people of Amethi have given their mandate. I want to say that our fight is a fight for ideology. I want to tell our leaders, who won and lost, don't worry, don't lose confidence. We will fight together for our ideology."
"It doesn't matter what I think went wrong. Frankly, people of India have decided that Modi should be the prime minister, as an Indian person, I accept it," he added gracefully.

Congress has held Amethi in Uttar Pradesh state since 1967 except for one three-year stint in 1977-80 and a one-year period in 1998-99.
On to the winners of other states like Assam, Karnataka,Kerala, Telangana, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya and Tripura, there is one woman winner each.
A dampener here though, and we hope it is acted upon, there were a total of seven states including Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and four Union Territories including Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagra Haveli, Lakshwadeep and Puducherry, they do not have a single woman MP.
