Lemon Auctioned For Whopping Rs 35,000 In Tamil Nadu Temple

Mahashivratri is celebrated in various parts of India with much zeal and enthusiasm. On this day devotees offer fruits, milk and many other things to lord shiva to seek his blessings. In the light of the same, fruits and lemons offered to Lord Shiva during Mahashivratri festivities at the Pazhapoosaian temple near Sivagiri village were auctioned.

According to the temple authorities, a lemon was auctioned for Rs 35,000. Read on to learn more about the lemon story.

The Auction Story

As per the custom and traditions, the lemon and other items including fruits were offered to Lord Shiva during the Mahashivratri festivities observed on Friday night at the Pazhapoosaian temple near Sivagiri village, were auctioned. 15 devotees participated in the auction held at a private temple in a village. However, the lemon (uses of lemon) was sold to a devotee from Erode for Rs 35,000.

Auction Ceremony

The temple priest placed the auctioned lemon before Lord Shiva conducted a small pooja and returned it to the person who made the highest bid in the auction. It is believed that the person who places the highest bid and gets the lemon will be blessed with good health, richness and wealth.
