Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi got appreciated by both the audiences and the critics. For all those who don't know, it also entered the 100 crore club. The movie that was made with a massive budget of 125 Crore still needs more money to become a Bollywood hit. Nonetheless, the movie is garnering a lot of attention these days. Yes, even after a month of its release, Kangana's Manikarnika is hogging the limelight. Thanks to all the controversies that have been kicking off ever since the movie made to the theatres.
Now the latest one, a behind-the-scenes video from the film is going viral over the net. The video is from the war sequence of the movie. It has Kangana riding on a horse. The horse she is riding on here is a fake one. And this gets really funny because at first, you don’t realise why is she getting trolled. As the camera moves, you realise it’s a mechanical horse. Sitting on that mechanical horse, Kangana starts to wave her sword and the English army race behind on their horses. Now, this short clip has invoked so many hilarious tweets. See video here:

Twitter Reactions
Self-acclaimed movie critic KRK tweeted, “This is how, Kangana RANAUT rode her horse in the battlefield scenes in the film #MANIKARNIKA! So hard Naa😜”. Another tweet said, “And with that my Twitter entertainment of the day is complete.” “This is why watching the behind the scenes footage is both fascinating and so meh at times. Fascinating because you can just pull off anything. And “meh” because at that stage, the “magic” of cinema is still in a nascent stage,” said another tweet. These were some really funny reactions among others. Don't Miss Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika Leaves Twitter Impressed, Read First Reviews Here
Bollywood And VFX
Most Bollywood war films get attention for their authentic fight scenes. But honestly, we also understand that it is not the case always. Actors may not always go fight for real. Amidst these hilarious trolls, I am somewhere also backing Kangana. This may not be the first time that someone has used a dummy for shot. All our leading actors have been relying on VFX to get those extraordinary shots. Trolling Kangana for using a mechanical horse really looks sexist somehow. This is something really normal, especially for people who understand that it is the world of films and not real life. It's just that, we always don't get to see behind the scenes from each and every movie that goes up the silver screen. There are times when the after effects are so poor that it starts to show on the screen. Not always are you able to make out the computer-generated elements that take over the screen in some frame or the other.
Remember Baahubali? It is one of the biggest movies Indian cinema has ever produced and both the parts of the movie had some iconic moments that literally gave us goosebumps. One such moment from the second part of the movie, Baahubali: The Conclusion, was when Amarendra fights with an elephant to protect Shivagami. A mechanical elephant was used to shoot that scene. Also, for a poster of the movie, where Prabhas is seen standing on an elephant has a secret behind it! The elephant he is standing on is a mechanical elephant who looked almost like a real one. Some great efforts went into making that elephant look like real in every sense, be it the size or texture. Seeing the poster, no one can really make out if it is a real or a dummy elephant. Don't remember if Prabhas was actually trolled for standing on a mechanical elephant.
Bollywood has given us a couple of war films but not always do we get to see what goes behind making such films. A lot of VFX, lightingandcamera techniques are used effectively to make a movie a visual delight for the audiences. When it comes to using computerised effects, the team needs to give attention to detail. I also remember that the climax scene from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, Padmaavat too wascriticised for its poor VFX. The hot coals that were thrown at Khilji looked clearly fake to many.
Talking of Manikarnika, we can’t deny that the VFX team did a great job in making the horse look like a real one. Also, we are awaiting Kangana’s reaction to this leaked BTS video.
