Mahashivratri is observed on the Chaturdashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month every year, as per the Hindu calendar. The tradition is to worship Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati on this day with full devotion and complete rituals. When Is Mahashivratri?
The expert told us that the festival of Mahashivratrion the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month, i.e., March 8. You have to perform the puja in Nishita Muhurta on this day and this year, the Phalgun Krishna Chaturdashi Tithi will begin at 09:57 pm on Friday, March 08, and end at 06:17 pm on Saturday, March 09.
The Nishita Muhurat will remain from March 8 till March 9, therefore, the exact date of Mahashivratri is March 8 this year, according to Panchang.
Mahashivratri 2024: Shubh Muhurat For Puja
The Nishita Puja Muhurta of Mahashivratri will begin at 12:07 pm on March 8 and remain till 12:56 pm on March 9. The devotees perform special worship with Shiva Mantras on this day. The Brahma Muhurta will be from 05:01 am to 05:50 am. The Shubh Muhurat for the puja on the day of Mahashivratri will be from 12:08 pm to 12:56 pm.
