Chewing gum stains are extremely stubborn to remove from clothes. Once they are stuck to your garment, do not expect to get them off easily. This is because of their sticky texture and strong adhesive nature.

However, if you have got a chewing stuck to your clothes, do not fret as here are some of the easiest methods to remove them from the comfort of your home.

Hacks To Remove Chewing Gum From Clothes

Use Ice Cubes

Take a few ice cubes or a cold pack and keep them on the chewing gum stuck to your fabric. Let it rest for about 20-30 minutes. This will freeze the chewing gum and make it come off easily. Once the gum has hardened, scrape it off using a credit card or a blunt knife.

Freeze Your Clothes

There is an alternate method to freeze the gum where you need to keep your affected garment inside the freezer (Top 10 Refrigerator). Keep it in for a few minutes until the gum freezes, then scrape it off using the same method.

Iron It Out

Take your affected garment, and put the gum area facing downwards on a cardboard. Take your iron on medium heat and place it on the garment. Make sure that you do not move it as the chewing gum may spread. Keep the iron in one position so the heat melts it while it gets stuck to the cardboard. Keep in mind that you use a steam iron as it has a lesser probability of burning clothes.

Use Vinegar

If these methods have not contributed to getting rid of the stubborn chewing gum from your clothes, try removing it with vinegar. Pour some vinegar into a bowl and microwave it until it is hot. Now pour the liquid on the affected areas and use a toothbrush to remove it.

Use Rubbing Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol is an all-rounder solution to clean everything around the house. Soak some cotton with this liquid and mildly rub it on the affected area. Let the rubbing alcohol seep through the gum. Once done, remove it using duct tape.
