Rhaenys Targaryen informed Rhaenyra Targaryen about her father’s death and the plotting of the greens (Alicent Hightower and her family) to install Aegon Targaryen II as the King on the Iron Throne. She also told her that Greens would be coming for her children.
Rhaenyra went into labour before the term and asked her firstborn Jacerys that whatever claim she had shifted to him. She made Jace her heir, while Daemon Targaryen has ‘gone mad’ and started plotting war.
Jace went down to inform the council that no action would be taken until his mother was abed. Daemon took Jace and two knights outside the Driftmark palace. He asked them who was their true king or rather ruler after King Viserys I’s death because he named an heir, both responded Princess Rhaenyra, and later her heir, Jacerys Targaryen. Daemon gave them a choice - either swore loyalty to the princess or be supper to his dragon.
On the other side of the castle, Rhaenyra gave birth to a stillborn. The baby wasn’t even fully developed before she birthed her fifth child. It shattered her and Daemon. The two had their body burned on a cliff.
Meanwhile, a knight who was asked to search Aegon came to meet Rhaenyra and swore his loyalty to her as the Queen. Everyone standing there bent their knees in front of their Queen.
Rhaenyra & Daemon Plan To Get Seven Kingdoms In Their Favour

In a council, both Rhaenyra and Daemon plan and plot to get support from each of the seven houses of the realm. They strive to find one person in each house who can support Rhaenyra’s claim to the throne.
The knight informed Rhaenyra of Otto Hightower coming there with three dragons. He asked for Princess Rhaenyra so that he could deliver Alicent’s message to her. The Queen arrived on her dragon’s back, much similar to when young Rhaenyra came to retrieve the dragon egg promised to her dead brother Baelor.
When Otto referred to her princess, she retaliated and said she was the Queen while people standing in front of her were all traitors of the realm. He asked Rhaenyra and everyone supporting her to swear obeisance to King Aegon II. However, they would give Draftmark to them, Prince Jacerys would be the true heir of that kingdom, and her sons to Daemon would be given the highest honours in the court of King’s Landings.

Princess Rhaenys explained to him how Daemon took the head of his brother, and how Aegon became the King. Corlys said he did wrong to go to every length to ensure an heir to his throne but no vail.
He asked Rhaenys to declare that Driftmark would have no heir and retire. He pointed out that Rhaenyra was complicit in their son’s death. “That girl destroys everything she touches,” he added. “That girl is the only one holding the realm together,” Princess Rhaenys added. She pointed out that everyone down in the council was ready to go to war at her command.
Rhaenys also said that until Aegon was the king, Rhaenyra’s sons, Jace, Luce and Joff, would be in danger. Lord Corlys went down and swore to stand by Rhaenyra’s side. He also declared that the Narrow Sea was theirs.

Aemond’s Dragon Killed Lucerys

Lucerys went to The Storm’s Land to deliver a message to Lord Borros from Rhaenyra. It said that he shall be reminded of his father’s oath when the Queen was declared the heir to the iron thrown. Lord Borros made fun of him and told him that Aemond was already there with the King’s message, and in exchange, he offered to take his daughter as his wife.
Lucerys said he would take the message to his mother when Aemond tried to provoke him to fight and asked him to give him his eye. Lord Borros refused bloodshed under his roof and asked his guards to safely escort Lucerys to his dragon.

While flying, Aemond tries to compete with Luce. Luke’s dragon spits fire at Aemond’s dragon who ends up killing them both. It went out of control of Aemond’s hands. Daemon delivered the message of Lucerys’ death to the Queen.
The finale episode was everything it could. Now that the bloodshed has begun, the second season would be all about war and blood.
