Govardhan Puja 2024 Timings
Astrologer Vats said that the Govardhan Puja Tithi 2024 will begin at 06:16 pm on Friday, November 1, and end at 08:21 pm on Saturday, November 2, as per the Hindu calendar. Therefore, it will be celebrated on November 2, as per Udaya Tithi. The Shubh Muhurat for puja will be from 05:34 am to 08:46 am. It will again begin at 03:23 pm and end at 05:35 pm.
Govardhan Puja 2024 Samagri List
The samagri list for Govardhan Puja 2024 includes pure cow dung, cotton wick, incense, diya, marigold flowers, garland, five types of sweets, fruits, curd, ghee, Naivedya, Gangajal, Khed, Roli, Akshat, Batasha, and honey.
Govardhan Puja 2024: Puja Vidhi
To perform the worship with proper rituals on the day of Govardhan Puja 2024, you have to first take a bath during Brahma Muhurat and then, meditate on Lord Govardhan. Sprinkle some Gangajal on the Govardhan idol made from cow dung as this is believed to purify it.
Decorate the idol with marigold flowers, garland, and colours. Offer Roli, Akshat, and Batasha to Lord Govardhan. Then, offer a bowl of mixed honey and curd towards the stomach of the idol and place it there.
Then, offer five types of sweets, fruits, Naivedya, and Khed to the idol and chant Lord Govardhan’s mantras. After you are done with the rituals, light a ghee lamp and perform the aarti of Lord Govardhan.

Govardhan Puja 2024 Significance
Astrologer Vats shared, “According to mythological beliefs, Lord Indra once Lord Indra and rained heavily upon them. Protecting the Brajvasi, Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhan mountain with his little finger and since then, Govardhan Puja has been celebrated on the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month every year.”
The devotees worship cows with complete rituals on this day, perform Annakoot where they offer various dishes to Lord Krishna, prepare 56 Bhog for him, and then distribute them as prasad.
