Not very happy that I have to share this story or DIY, that my mother had to make something like this for her daughter's safety, but here is a DIY Pepper Spray Recipe that my mother tried and made for me two days ago.

She ruined few body mist bottles in her case, you can use any spray bottle, but kept at it, the entire Sunday so that I can have something to save myself if need be while on may way back home, coming down the metro or outside. So here we go.

Tips To Make Pepper Spray

  • Take little water, so that when you put the chillies in it, they are barely floating.
  • Crush the peppers using a spoon and squeeze out the seeds.
  • Next, add in some crushed black pepper.
  • Now, fill the container with water and boil it in the microwave.
  • Take the funnel and pour in the bottle.
  • Test the bottle somewhere outside properly to see that the pump should work immediately.
  • This has an expiry of one year but I would say you change it every two-three weeks for effectiveness.

May you never have to use it, but ladies carry it with you at all times. The moment you feel unsafe, or whenever travelling, keep the spray at the ready in your hand. Like whenever going back from the metro, in the cab, walking down the street... I was almost dragged into a car right outside my home so yes even on the street outside your colony, until you are home.
