Why Lord Ganesha Is Worshipped With Goddess Lakshmi?

As per Hindu Mythology, a sense of pride came in Goddess Lakshmi when she was made goddess of wealth. To end this pride, Lord Vishnu had told her that a woman’s life is complete only when she becomes a mother. Hearing this, goddess Lakshmi felt disappointed and went to Goddess Parvati and told her everything. She also asked for a son but Goddess Parvati knew that Goddess Lakshmi never stays in one place for a long time and thus she gave her son Lord Ganesha to her. Goddess Laksmi felt elated after this and thus Lord Ganesha is worshipped before Goddess Lakshmi. That is why the workshipping of both of them has the greatest importance on Diwali. According to beliefs, by worshipping Lord Ganesha first, the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi always remain with her devotees on diwali (diwali chants).
