26 Diyas For Dhanteras

As per astrology, it is believed that on the evening of Dhanteras, we should lit 13 Diyas at the main entrance and 13 Diyas should be lit in every corner of the house. The total number of Diyas should be 26. This act ensures the arrival of Goddess Lakshmi in the house. But while lighting ‘Yam Ka Diya’ make sure to do this after every family member comes back home and is done with their eating and drinking. Use an old Diya and add mustard oil to it. Keep this Diya outside the house in the south direction facing towards garbage or drain.
