Deepika's next release, Chhapaak is creating a lot of buzz these days. The movie was announced a few days back and recently Deepika Padukone also shared her first look from the movie. In the picture, Deepika shared on her Instagram handle, she looks totally unrecognisable as Malti, her character in the movie. Deepika underwent a lot of makeup to achieve the look of an acid attack survivor that she plays in the movie. For all those who don't know, Chhapaak is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The movie is being helmed by Raazi Director Meghna Gulzar and will star Vikrant Massey opposite Deepika, who will be playing the role of Alok Dixit (Laxmi's boyfriend and social activist).
The team has started shooting the movie in the capital already. Now recently a video of Deepika shooting around Delhi is going viral over social media. In the video, Deepika can be seen sitting behind Vikrant on a bike. She gets off the bike and Vikrant is seen moving towards the other side of the road. Deepika can be seen in the dressed in a simple yellow and white suit. Her face looks completely transformed into the look of Laxmi Agarwal. Looks like Vikrant has been asked to grow a heavy beard especially for his look in the film. Watch the video here:

Vikrant shared some pictures from the Chhapaak reading session recently and captioned it, "As actors, we live for this moment. Feeling blessed with the team during our #Chhapaak reading session." In a recent interview, when asked about working with Deepika Padukone in Chhapaak, he said, "Working with an actress of her caliber is not just an opportunity but also a huge responsibility. I’m both nervous and excited."
Chhapaak is the story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. She was attacked at the age of 15 by a 40-year-old man when she refused his proposals. After the horrific attack, Laxmi underwent multiple surgeries. She never took herself as a victim. After the attack, she planned to work for all acid attack survivors. She also filed a PIL in the Supreme Court to ban the sale of acid. Now she is working as a voice for all acid attack survivors. Coming back to the movie, Chhapaak will make it to the silver screen next year, 19th January 2020. Everyone, right from Deepika's fans to her friends in the movie business are appreciating her for bringing this story to the silver screen. The movie will be Deepika Padukone's first project as a producer. She is producing Chhapaak under her production banner, Ka productions.
