Russia's Luna-25 was competing with Chandrayaan-3. Its budget was estimated at ₹1,600 crores.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in South Africa to build stronger relations of India with the country. He discussed defence, trade, and investment linkages with President Cyril Ramaphosa.
According to current reports, PM Modi will be witnessing the Chandrayaan-3 landing event virtually from South Africa.
Chandrayaan-3 Touchdown Is Estimated To Happen At 6.04 PM
The touchdown of Chandrayaan-3 is expected to take place on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 6.04 PM. The rover will begin its descent in a couple of hours, and Indians are waiting for ISRO to create history.
Around 5.45 pm, the Mission Operations Complex (MOX) at ISRO Telemetry, Tracking, and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bengaluru, has decided to initiate the powered descent of the lander module.
If the lander experiences no troubles, it will touch the surface of the moon exactly 19 minutes later at 6.04 pm.

Speaking to the ANI, ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair said that this is the last leg of the Chandrayaan-3 operation, and everyone is excited for it to make a successful soft landing on the Moon.
He also added that the ISRO has conducted several studies and stimulations to ensure a perfect design of the Vikram Lander. They wanted to ensure that we succeed this time.

On August 22, 2023, ISRO posted on social media platforms that Chandrayaan-3’s mission is on schedule. Earlier it was reported that the landing might get delayed due to unfavourable circumstances.
The space organisation has confirmed that they are conducting regular checks on the system to ensure smooth sailing.
“The Mission Operations Complex (MOX) is buzzed with energy and excitement!” read the tweet.
The live telecast of the landing can be watched at MOX/ISTRAC, which will begin around 5.20 pm on August 23, 2023.
