The Department of Tourism, Chandigarh Administration is organising the Chandigarh Carnival at Open Ground opposite Museum and Art Gallery, Sector 10, Chandigarh. The Chandigarh Carnival will feature performances by well-known singers including Shaan, Jassie Gill, and Babbal Rai from December 2 to December 4. Artists from Bangladesh, Nepal, South Korea, Russia, and other countries will also be seen in a workshop at the carnival.

This popular carnival is happening after two years because of the Covid pandemic. The Chandigarh Carnival will be inaugurated by UT administrator Banwari Lal Purohit on Friday and is a three-day carnival. The musical night will feature Jassie Gill and Babbal Rai on December 3. Bollywood singer Shaan will perform at the same venue.
The cultural performances will be held with artists from a variety of states, including Gujarat, Assam, Sikkim, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. The carnival also has a kite display event on December 3 followed by a kite competition on December 4. The stage will also be open to the public and amateur artists can perform and showcase their talent. The theme for this year’s event is “Apna Shehar Apna Jashan”. The department of tourism has installed amusement park rides and will plan day-long cultural events, including three "mega" musical evenings.

On December 3 and 4, morning raga will also be held at the Botanical Garden and Sukhna Lake, respectively. A musical evening with well-known singer-composer Shaan will round out the carnival's last day. Entry to all the events, including the musical night, will be free for the public.
