These guidelines aim to provide clarity and ensure that students are well-prepared for their examinations. The CBSE board exams will begin by February 15, 2025, for classes 10 and 12. CBSE Board Exam 2025 Attendance Guidelines
1. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially reminded all affiliated schools about the importance of following attendance rules for Class 10 and 12 students. According to the notification, students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance to be eligible to sit for the board exams in February 2025. According to theguidelines shared it mentioned that “Attendance registers should be updated daily, signed by the class teacher and the competent authority of the school, and be readily available for inspection by CBSE.”

2. No changes to attendance records will be allowed once the school has submitted cases of attendance shortages to the CBSE.
3. If there is any medical emergency, students must submit a leave application along with valid medical documentation immediately after taking the leave. It further stated that “If it is observed at the time of sudden inspection of the schools by the CBSE that students are absent without proper leave records, it will be presumed that they are not attending the schools regularly, CBSE shall not allow them to appear in the Board examinations.”

3. Everything regarding the child's attendance should be informed to parents. According to theguidelines, “In case a student frequently misses school or fails to meet the attendance requirement, the school should notify the parents in writing, stressing the importance of regular attendance and informing them that failure to comply may result in the student being disqualified from appearing in the board exams.”

4. The Board may conduct surprise inspections to check student attendance records. If these inspections reveal incomplete records or indicate that students are not attending regularly, the school could face severe consequences, including disaffiliation. Therefore, students may be disqualified from sitting for the board exams.
