The ruckus occurred on Sunday at Lidhorataal village, approximately 45 km from the district headquarters. The brothers' father, Dhyani Singh Ghosh (84), passed away due to a prolonged illness. The elder son, Kishan, who lived outside the village, arrived at the scene after being informed of the death. A dispute arose between the brothers, with Kishan insisting that he would perform the last rites, while the younger son, Deshraj, claimed it was their father's wish that he carry out the cremation.
In a stunning turn of events, Kishan, who was reportedly inebriated, demanded that their father's body be cut in half and divided between the brothers. The villagers, alarmed by the dispute, alerted the police, who intervened to resolve the situation. Arvind Singh Dangi, the in-charge of Jatara police station, stated that the police managed to convince Kishan to leave the scene, and the younger son subsequently carried out the cremation.
