The Pakistani Javelin Thrower Arshad Nadeem threw an impressive 92.97m breaking the historical record of the Olympics men’s javelin throw, at the finale on Thursday. This also became the first-ever individual gold won by a Pakistani athlete in the Olympics history.

Who Is Arshad Nadeem?
While everyone is busy appreciating Pakistan’s sports sensation, it is essential to know who Arshad Nadeem is. Hailing from Mian Channu, a town in Punjab, Pakistan, Nadeem was born on January 2, 1997. Belonging to an economically backward family, he is the son of a retired construction worker Muhammad Ashraf who was also the only breadwinner. Out of seven siblings, the 27-year-old athlete is the third-oldest.
Arshad’s father told PTI, "People have no idea how Arshad got to this place today. How his fellow villagers and relatives used to donate money so that he could travel to other cities for his training and events in his early days."
He added, "If my son can bring home an Olympic medal for Pakistan it would be the proudest moment for us and everyone in this village. If he wins a medal, it will be a triumph for everyone in our village and our country."
Arshad Nadeem's net worth is estimated to be approximately $2 million, as per a One India report.
