Ageing is a natural process but do you realise it isn't a much talked about subject? Looks like many of us have created this mental space where no one gets aged or looks good all the time. But let's face the reality, it is all in our head, a hoax. The world of social media is so beautiful that we forget to see the ugly side of it. It is even uglier for celebrities. As soon as a picture of them goes up on their social media feed, users flood it with comments and most of them spew hate out there.

Of course, everyone has access to the internet today and people can say what they want to but the issue is a tad bit serious here.

When Archana Puran Singh recently went online for a live chat with her fans, one of them pointed out at her neck wrinkles. She shared that it isn't the first time a user is trolling her for being aged, her feed is full of such hate comments.

That's when Archana Puran Singh dropped a truth bomb on all those trollers who keep attacking her feed with comments like 'buddhi'. She asked why being aged is used as an abuse? We so wanted a celebrity to come forth and talk about this and can't thank Archana Puran Singh enough for this!

If you are an active user of social media then you must have noticed women from the entertainment world age shamed. It happens all the time. Pick any female celebrity, head to their profile, and check any image, you will find hate comments, especially talking about how they look.

You Don't Need To Look Beautiful All The Time

Makeup is an integral part of a celebrity's life. When they are on-duty, they need to wear on a lot of makeup to look flawless on screen. Once they are done with their work they are back to being their normal selves. Archana Puran Singh talked about another much-needed topic. Do celebrities need to look good all the time? She said she takes off makeup once she is off duty and she looks a lot different. She said, "I have to say, it is not necessary to look good all the time. I look very good for my kids and very good for my husband and I am very happy about it!."

Just like us, they too face beauty woes, skin sagging, fine lines, wrinkles. Do we forget they are as normal as us? And why do we perceive it this way?

Who Is At Fault Here?

The way women have been portrayed on the silver screen plays a key role. Why male actors who are today in their 40s and 50s not paired with actresses their age? We wonder what is Bollywood's problem with ageing. As soon as an actress enters her 40s or 50s, they start playing mothers to actors to even those who are younger to them. Why are women in their 40s and 50s not offered roles to romance the younger lot on screen? Why do women in Bollywood have a shelf life? Bollywood plays a key role in making people judge a woman's body. When these actresses don't fit in the conventional standards set in by the industry, they are at the end of receiving only hate.

It is high time that we all understand and accept the fact that it is perfectly normal to age, and this is something that we all will eventually go through. We need to normalise the way we perceive beauty especially when it comes to women. After all, its not just about how we look. There is so much more. To celebrating women and every phase of life!
