Aishwarya And Daughter Aaradhya Test Positive For Corona, Abhishek Bachchan Confirms Via Tweet

Just a day after Bollywood's megastar, Amitabh Bachchan along with his son Abhishek Bachchan tested positive for the novel coronavirus, more members of his family, including daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter Aaradhya tested positive for the same. The news has been confirmed by Abhishek himself.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, the actor wrote, “My father and I remain in hospital till the doctors decide otherwise. Everyone please remain cautious and safe. Please follow all rules!”

Earlier, the same news was confirmed by Assistant Commissioner at 2:30 PM on Sunday. Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan, Navya Naveli, and her brother Agastya Bachchan, on the other hand, have been reported negative.

The Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare Maharashtra, Rajesh Tope confirmed the same, taking to his official Twitter handle on Sunday as well. But, for unknown reasons, he deleted the post later. "Smt. Aishwarya Rai Bacchan & Daughter Aaradhya Abhishek Bacchan have also been detected positive for Covid19. Smt. Jaya Bachhan ji is tested negative for covid19. We wish the Bacchan Family to get well soon with a speedy recovery,” said his deleted tweet.

While it was first reported on Saturday evening that both Jaya and Aishwarya tested negative after taking Antigen tests, post undergoing swab tests, the result came out different for Aaradhya and mother Aishwarya. The swab test was taken by all the members of the Bachchan family.

Taking to their respective social media handles, senior and junior Bachchan informed their fans and followers regarding testing COVID-19 positive. “T 3590 -I have tested CoviD positive .. shifted to Hospital .. hospital informing authorities .. family and staff undergone tests , results awaited .. All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested!” tweeted Amitabh Bachchan on Saturday.

"Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you," wrote Abhishek, confirming that he has been tested positive for coronavirus too.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya’s fans seem to be devastated by the news. They are expressing their worrisome and sending well wishes to her and the Bachchan family. “this news is heartbreaking. Cant believe my fav actress has been tested positive. I pray for her speedy recovery,” wrote one on Twitter. “Wishing fast recovery and good health for the whole #bachchanfamily,” tweeted another.

After being admitted to Nanavati Hospital, the 77-year-old star has now been reported stable and is currently in the isolation unit of the hospital, as per a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of Nanavati Hospital, Mumbai. Along with the superstar, his son Abhishek will remain in the hospital too.

Bachchan's residence Jalsa, which is located in Juhu, Mumbai has been declared a containment zone by BMC officials, as per the media reports. This happened a day after Bachchan family members started testing positive for COVID-19. Whereas, the other three have been sealed.
