After Ranveer Singh, Vishnu Vishal Joins Bandwagon For Nude Photoshoot

After Ranveer Singh set the internet on fire with his nude photo shoot, South Indian actor Vishnu Vishal has now posed nude and credited his wife Jwala Gutta as the photographer.

Vishnu Vishal, the former cricketer turned actor in the Tamil film industry, has ‘joined the trend’ after Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh posed in a nude photoshoot. Vishal took to social media on Saturday to post pictures clicked by his wife Badminton player Jwala Gutta where he is lying on the bed partially covered by a white bedsheet as he posed.

“Well... joining the trend ! P.S Also when wife @Guttajwala turns photographer…,” wrote Vishal on the post.

Earlier this week, Ranveer bared it all for a magazine photoshoot and has been making headlines ever since. While mostly he was praised by both celebrities and fans for his brave move and for breaking gender stereotypes like no one in India, some also questioned gender equality in the reaction.

Celebrities including Masaba Gupta, Anurag Kashyap, Manish Malhotra, Zoya Akhtar, Diya Mirza, Lilly Singh, Priyanka Chopra, and Parineeti Chopra, are among others toshower praises and fire emojis across social media.

Anurag Kashyap wrote, "What is this hotness (fire emojis). Matlab kya?? Khamkhah ka pressure (What is the meaning of this? Unnessary pressure)." While Masaba Gupta wrote, “The best cover shot this country has seen. Brave and unapologetic.” Dia Mirza commented with a lion emoji and Youtuber Lilly Singh wrote, "Major WIN". While Huma Qureshi's commented "Adonis.”

However, Bengali actor and politician Mimi Chakraborty questioned if the reaction would be the same if this was done by a woman. “Internet broke with Ranveer singh’s latest photoshoot and comments were (mostly).Just wondering if the appreciation would have been same if she was a woman. Or would u have burned her house down, taken up morchas given her a death threat and slut shamed her. We talk about Equality where is that now??!!!! You know right its your perspective that can change something or destroy it. In this case lets broaden our perspective coz that body comes with a lot of sacrifice trust me(No salt, No sugar, No carbs…)”

People also compared Ranveer with Milind Soman’s naked run on Goa beach from last year. And now Vishal has joined the bandwagon.

Vishal, who started his career as a cricketer in the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) league games, debuted with the 2009 Tamil sports drama film Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu where he played the lead role. Since his debut, Vishal has acted in over 17 films including Drohi, Kullanari Koottam, Idam Porul Yaeval, Kaadan, and FIR, among several others. The actor rose to fame with the 2018 Tamil psychological thriller film, Ratsasan. Vishal got engaged to Gutta in September 2020 and tied knots in April this year in Hyderabad.
