Balika Vadhu To Be Aired Today; Avika Gor Aka Anandi Confirms The News

Coronavirus is spreading like a wildfire and has affected almost every country in the world including India. People have resorted to self-quarantine and social distancing amid the 21-day lockdown that has been imposed by PM Narendra Modi to curtail the COVID-19 from spreading. With nothing to do, most of the masses have been spending their time watching movies, playing games, preparing new dishes, reading books or doing other kinds of stuff. Due to this nationwide lockdown, everything has come to a standstill in the entertainment industry.

As a result of this, shootings of movies and tv shows have been cancelled, due to which the channels are airing the old daily soaps to keep the audiences entertained. In the midst of all this, the Colors channel decided to bring back the iconic show Balika Vadhu. Yes, you read it right.

Featuring Avika Gor and Avinash Mukherjee in lead roles, Balika Vadhu is all set to return to the small screen. Colors announced that the show will air from April 13 at 6 pm on social media along with its promo. “Laut kar aa rahi hai sabki pyaar Anandi! Dekhiye #BalikaVadhu Mon - Fri, shaam 6 baje sirf #Colors par”, the caption reads.

Avika Gor aka Anandi also confirmed the same by sharing a video message wherein she can be seen singing the title track of the show. She has also shared her favourite memories from the show.

For unversed, Balika Vadhu is one of the most popular television show which ran for 8 years. This was the first show on Indian Television to complete 2000 episodes. The show had two seasons - namely Balika Vadhu: Kacchi Umar Ke Pakke Rishte which showcases the journey of Anandi and Jagdish who are married at a young age. It also showcases the struggles a child bride faces and how it is a wrong (also illegal) thing to do. The show’s next season titled Balika Vadhu: Lamhe Pyaar Ke showcases the journey of Anandi’s daughter Nandini.

However, this isn’t the only show that has returned on the television. Bigg Boss 13, Mahakaali: Anth Hi Aarambh Hai, Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush, Ramayan and Mahabharat are also being rerun on television screens again.
