68th National Film Awards: Ajay Devgn Wins The Best Actor Award, Here Are All The Winners

The 68th National Film Award winners were announced at the National Media Centre, New Delhi on 22 July 2022. The award function was not held physically for the past 2 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, it was held in Delhi after two years of virtual announcements. Over 300 feature films and 150 non-feature films from different languages competed for this award in 50 categories.

Most Film-Friendly State

Madhya Pradesh has won the prize for the most film-friendly state. A special mention for the category was given to Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.

Best Actress Award

Aparna Balamurali won the best actress award at the National Film Awards 2022 for the film Soorarai Pottru.

Best Actor Award

The best actor award was shared by Ajay Devgn for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Suriya for Soorarai Pottru.

Best Director Award

KR Sachidanandan received the best director award for the Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum posthumously.

Best Popular Film

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior starring Ajay Devgn won the best popular film award. The award was for providing wholesome entertainment at the 68th National Film Awards.

Child actor Varun Buddhadev

Varun Buddhadev, a child actor, received a special jury mention for his work in Toolsidas Junior, which also starred Sanjay Dutt and Rajiv Kapoor.

Best Supporting Actress

For her acting in the Tamil movie Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum, Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli won the best-supporting actress award.

Best Feature Film

The best feature film at the National Film Awards 2022 was given to the Telugu film Soorarai Pottru. The film won three out of the four major awards including best feature film, best actor, and best actress.

Best Supporting Actor Award

The best supporting actor award was given to Biju Menon for the Malayalam movie Ayyappanum Koshiyum.
