Thinking of serving something different to your besties this monsoon? There is no better option than going the fried food route. We all feel a little hesitant when it comes to deep-fried foods, but hey, monsoon and friends together call for something out of the box. And lets accept it, nothing tastes better than our favourite veggies glazed in a rich batter and fried perfectly.
In case you want to perform the balancing act of keeping the health quotient up and want to experiment with something new, you got to try sweet potato, broccoli, and zucchini fries. Sounds strange? But hey, till you try some you won’t know.
Zucchini Fries

Ingredients
- 3 zucchinis
- 2 cups of breadcrumbs
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 teaspoon of oregano seasoning
- 1 teaspoon of chilli flakes
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- Oil to fry
Method
- Peel and slice zucchinis so that you have long clean pieces
- Prepare the coating by mixing all the dry ingredients with breadcrumbs
- Prepare the batter by mixing water and flour. Ensure that the mixture is a bit runny and not too thick
- Dip zucchini in the batter and coat it with the mixture of breadcrumbs
- Add oil to the pan and deep fry the zucchini till it turns golden brown
- Serve these fries with green chutney
Sweet Potato Fries
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 1 teaspoon of oregano seasoning
- 1 teaspoon ofchilliflakes
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- Oil to fry
- Peel and slice sweet potatoes so that you have long clean pieces
- Fry them deep in a pan
- Take them out and dry their oil with the help of a tissue paper
- Place them in a bowl and sprinkle your dry ingredients over them
- Toss the fries so that they have a proper coating of the spices
- Serve them with homemade tomato chutney
Broccoli Fries

- 500 grams of broccoli
- 2 cups of breadcrumbs
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 teaspoon of oregano seasoning
- 1 teaspoon ofchilliflakes
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- Oil to fry
- Cut broccoli into small florets
- Prepare the coating by mixing all the dry ingredients with breadcrumbs
- Makebatterby mixing water and flour. Ensure that the mixture is a bit runny and not too thick
- Dip the florets in the batter and coat them with the mixture of breadcrumbs
- Add oil to the pan and deep fry the broccoli florets till they turn golden brown
- Serve these fries with mayo dip
