Every chai lover out there knows that no matter what mood we are in, chai is the ultimate saviour. It enhances our mood and well... it is very satisfying. With so many chai or tea sellers and chains, we tend to order and spend money every time. How about trying this truly easy and simple masala chai recipe which is healthy because of its ingredients and tasty as well. When I made this chai with few experiments, it turned out to be really good and here is me sharing this recipe with you.

Ingredients

  • 4 green cardamom
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 3 peppercorns
  • 300 ml of water
  • 2 slices of ginger
  • 1/2 tsp sonth or ginger powder
  • Pinch of cinnamon powder or 1/2 inch stick
  • 1 tbsp loose leaf black tea
  • 1 cup milk
  • Sugar as per taste

Step

  • Step 1 :

    Boil the water with all the ingredients in it besides sugar.

  • Step 2 :

    Then add in the tea leaves and boil it for few minutes until you feel that colour is beautiful and the chai lover in you gets the vibes that it is going to be good.

  • Step 3 :

    Now add in 150 ml milk in the mixture and boil.

  • Step 4 :

    Let it coil for about 5-10 minutes and place a wooden ladle on the utensil so that it absorbs the moisture and stops it from curdling over.

  • Step 5 :

    Here it all depends how you like your tea. If you like it strong then boil for longer and if you like it light then let it boil for 5 minutes and you are done.

    Serve with a tea cake or some snacks.
