- Stir together puffed rice with water in a bowl and mix it all with your hands.
- In case using a thicker variety then keeping it for 5 more minutes to soften the puffed rice.
- However, do not soak this for a longer time and dunk to remove excess water from the puffed rice.
- Transfer the puffed rice to a plate and make a paste with it inside the blender.
- In a pan take some oil pan and fry cumin, mustard seeds along with dal and peanuts.
- Saute for some time and then add onions, tomatoes and then cover with lid.
- Cook until the mixture begins to leave the sides. Then add salt as per your requirement.
- Lower the flame and add the rice puffs and stir well.
- Turn off the flame and then sprinkle 2 tablespoons gram flour over the upma, also add coriander leaves and fried puffed rice for a crunchy taste, and voila!
