Ingredients

  • 2 cup wheat flour (atta)
  • ½ cup besan
  • ½ cup curd
  • 1 medium sized grated bottle gourd
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp ajwain or carom seeds
  • 1 chopped green chilli
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 2 tbsp oil

Step

  • Step 1 :

    Take grated lauki in a large bowl. Add kasuri methi, salt, chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder and ajwain.

  • Step 2 :

    Mix everything well. Add ginger, green chilies and chopped coriander.

  • Step 3 :

    Combine everything to form a thick paste.

  • Step 4 :

    Now, add atta, besan and curd in the bowl.

  • Step 5 :

    Use your hands to mix all the ingredients and knead into a dough.

  • Step 6 :

    Add 1 tbsp oil in it, to make the dough softer.

  • Step 7 :

    Now, take a small ball from the dough and roll it into a thin chapati.

  • Step 8 :

    Heat a tawa and grease it lightly with oil.

  • Step 9 :

    Place the thepla on it and cook for 1-2 minutes, from both sides.

  • Step 10 :

    Savour thepla with either raita or pickle.
