How To Make Bhugga?

Dry roast the white sesame seeds in a pan over low-medium flame until they are light golden and aromatic. Transfer them to a plate and let them cool down. Now, heat some ghee in the pan, add the grated jaggery, and stir continuously until it melts. Once the syrup thickens but isn’t too hard, turn off the heat. Add the roasted sesame seeds, cardamom powder, and nuts to the syrup and mix thoroughly. Once the mixture is cool enough to touch, use ghee to grease your hands and start shaping the laddoos. Serve and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of white sesame seeds
  • 1 cup of grated jaggery
  • 3 tablespoons of ghee
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder
  • 4 tablespoons of chopped nuts (almonds
  • cashews)

Step

  • Step 1 :

    Heat a pan on low-medium flame, dry roast the white sesame seeds until they are light golden and aromatic.Cool them on a plate by spreading it evenly.

  • Step 2 :

    In a pan, heat the ghee, add the grated jaggery, and stir continuously until it melts. Cook for a minute until the syrup thickens slightly but is not overly hard.

  • Step 3 :

    In the melted jaggery, add the roasted sesame seeds. Mix thoroughly. Add cardamom powder and nuts.

  • Step 4 :

    Let the mixture cool enough to handle. Grease your hands with ghee and shape it into laddoos. Or you can Spread the mixture on a greased plate and cut into squares.

  • Step 5 :

    Once cooled, the bhugga is ready to serve. Store in an airtight container.
