Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour (maida)
  • 1 carrot finely chopped
  • 1 capsicum finely chopped
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 small cabbage finely chopped
  • 6 diced pods of garlic
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp cornflour
  • 1-2 cups of cornflakes
  • 1 cup oil (for frying)

Step

  • Step 1 :

    In a bowl, add all purpose flour, salt and water. Knead it to form a dough.

  • Step 2 :

    Keep the dough aside and prepare the filing separately.

  • Step 3 :

    Take a pan and fry the chopped garlic, cabbage, onion, capsicum and carrot together.

  • Step 4 :

    Once done, add black pepper, vinegar and soya sauce to it.

  • Step 5 :

    Now take the dough and make small balls from it.

  • Step 6 :

    With a rolling pin, roll out small circles, enough to form the outer covering layer of momos.

  • Step 7 :

    Now add 1-2 tbsp of the prepared mixture to them and fold in any shape your want.

  • Step 8 :

    In a separate bowl, add 3 tbsp of cornflour and add water to it. Mix it together to form a paste.

  • Step 9 :

    Now dip all your momos in the slurry and cover them properly.

  • Step 10 :

    Crush the cornflakes in a plate and roll the momos in them. Ensure that the momos are completely covered with crushed cornflakes.

  • Step 11 :

    Finally, heat oil in a pan and fry the momos until golden brown.

  • Step 12 :

    Serve them hot, with either mayonnaise or momos chutney.
