Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Maida
  • 4 Tablespoons Ghee
  • Salt
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar(Powdered) + 1 Cup(Granulated)
  • 1 Cup Cardamom Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons Rice Flour
  • 1 Cup Water

Step

  1. Step 1:

    In a bowl, mix maida, salt and 2 tablespoons ghee and mix to make a dough out of it. Then cover and keep aside for an hour.

  2. Step 2:

    Mix powdered sugar and 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon powder and keep aside after mixing.

  3. Step 3:

    Prepare sugar syrup by heating water, granulated sugar in a pan. Let the mixture simmer till it thickens.

  4. Step 4:

    In a separate bowl, mix rice flour and ghee and let it rest.

  5. Step 5:

    Pinch out 5- 6 balls out of the dough and roll them into rotis.

  6. Step 6:

    Keep adding one roti on top of another by adding a layer of rice flour in between and after the last roti, roll the all in a log.

  7. Step 7:

    Now cut the Chirotis across the length of the log.

  8. Step 8:

    Roll all the chirotis flat in a disc like shape and then deep fry until golden brown.

  9. Step 9:

    Now sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon mix over the hot fried chirotis.

  10. Step 10:

    Or to add extra sweetness to your dish, dip the chirotis one by one in the sugar syrup that you had prepared.

  11. Step 11:

    You can skip making the sugar syrup if you don't want the dish to be too sweet.
