Bungeoppang was seen in the popular South Korean tvN and Netflix series ‘Vincenzo’, which was released in 2021 and was a big hit. The drama had Song Joong-ki and Jeon Yeo-been in the lead roles. In the drama, we saw the duo snacking on this delicacy, which turns out to have a special connection with the character Vincenzo Cassano's (Song Joong-ki) childhood.
Vincenzo and Cha-young visit a street vendor shop on Pojangmacha Street in Episode 12 to buy some bungeoppang. He purchases his mother's favourite fish-shaped pastries with sweet fillings, typically made with red bean paste. This snack can be made with several different types of filling, but the most popular filling is red bean. Here is an easy recipe that you can try making at home.
