Holi hai!! Yes, we know Holi is still a few days away but it is time to start preparing for the festival. While Holi is all about smearing your loved ones with fun colours and partying your heart out, one of the most important components of the celebration is the special food made on this day! And one dish without your Holi celebration is incomplete is Paneer Malpua. 

Paneer Malpua is a traditional Indian dessert, which is often prepared on festivals and special occasions. It is an ideal dessert to prepare this Holi and we are sure, your guests will definitely love it. So, here is how you can prepare this sweet delicacy at home.

Paneer Malpua Recipe Card

This sweet delight is prepared using paneer, all-purpose flour, corn flour, kewra essence, ghee and sugar which are easily available in your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup paneer
  • 1 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp corn flour
  • 2-3 drops kewra essence
  • ½ cup ghee
  • ¼ cup milk
  • a pinch of salt
  • 75 g sugar
  • water as required

Step

  1. Step 1:

    To prepare this scrumptious dish, start with mixing paneer, corn flour and all-purpose flour in a pan. Transfer this mixture in a mixer and add milk and blend to a smooth batter.

  2. Step 2:

    Heat oil in a pan over medium flame. Once the oil is hot enough, pour ladleful of the mixture and spread evenly. Keep the flame low and deep fry until it turns golden brown. Remove the cooked malpua and drain the excess ghee.

  3. Step 3:

    Meanwhile, add water, sugar and kewra essence in a pan. Bring it to a boil and let it cook until you get a one string consistency.

  4. Step 4:

    Add malpuas in sugar syrup and allow it to soak for 5 minutes.

  5. Step 5:

    Transfer the malpuas on a serving plate, garnish them with chopped dry fruits and saffron strands and enjoy!
