Ingredients for Chilli Mushroom

For deep frying:

  • 3 tsp oil
  • 2 finely chopped clove garlic
  • 1 inch chopped ginger
  • 2 slit green chilli
  • 4 tbsp chopped spring onion
  • ¼ chopped onion
  • ¼ cubed capsicum
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp chilli sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • ¼ tsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp corn flour
  • 2 tbsp water

Other ingredients:

  • ½ cup maida
  • ¼ cup corn flour
  • ¼ tsp red chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp crushed pepper
  • ¼ tsp crushed pepper
  • ¼ tsp ginger garlic paste
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup water
  • 8 half-cut mushrooms
  • Oil for frying

Chilli Mushroom Recipe

  1. Prepare the sauce by heating 3 teaspoons of oil in a pan. Add 2 cloves of minced garlic, a 1-inch piece of grated ginger, and 2 chopped green chilies. Sauté until fragrant, then add 2 tablespoons of chopped spring onions and stir-fry on high heat.
  2. Add diced ¼ onion and ¼ capsicum to the pan and sauté briefly until they start to blister. Then, pour in the sauce mixture, consisting of 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce, 1 teaspoon of chilli sauce, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and a pinch of pepper, sugar, and salt. Stir-fry everything together on high heat, allowing the sauce to thicken to perfection.
  3. Now, slowly pour in the corn flour mixture, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Continue stirring until the gravy thickens and develops a rich, glossy sheen. Add the fried mushrooms to the sauce, gently folding them in to ensure they're evenly coated with the savory sauce.
  4. Serve the Chilli Mushroom dish hot, garnished with a sprinkle of chopped spring onions.
