Badaam thandai is a rich, delicious, and refreshing drink that stays in much demand on Holi.
Put all of the ingredients in a grinder and grind them down to a powder. (You can dry grind a bigger amount of spice mix and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days. You can also adjust the quantities to suit your preferences and taste.)
Bring the milk to a boil with the sugar, then add a few strands of kesar.
Mix in the crushed powder thoroughly. If necessary, add more water to achieve the required consistency.
To get a smooth Milk, strain the mixture to remove any particles.
Allow to cool and keep in refrigerator to chill for at least one hour (or perhaps overnight to allow the spices to infuse into the drink).
Before serving, give it a good stir. Garnish and serve. If you have rose water or dried crushed rose petals, add some to taste.
