Have very few ingredients to make something nice for tea time snacks? Don't worry, we have that department sorted as well. The main ingredient here is the bread and the rest you will easily have in your little garden and in your kitchen as well. You can try these recipes for breakfast or chai time.
Cheese Cutlet
This is really easy to make.
Ingredients
- Boiled and mashed potatoes
- Chopped onions
- Chopped coriander
- Boiled chicken (optional)
- Grated cheese
- Soaked slices of bread
Method
Just mix all these ingredients together
Add the spices you like, I prefer oregano, garlic and parsley seasoning with a bit of pepper personally.
Now roll them into balls and shallow fry.
Serve hot with a chutney
Season with your choice of spice and roll them into balls and shallow fry. Serve hot.

Bread Dahi Chaat
Ingredients
- Bread
- Milk
- Water
- Chopped onions
- Aloo bhujiya or sev
Method
Just soak some slices of bread in milk and then squeeze out the liquid.
Roll them into small balls.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves, aloo bhujiya or sev, raw onions, and curd.
Sprinkle with chaat masala.
Bread Upma
Ingredients
- 6-8 slices of bread
- Butter
- Boiled potatoes
- Chopped onions
- Tomatoes
- Hing
- Cumin seeds
- Mustard seeds
- Red chilli powder
- Lemon juice
- Green chillies
Method
The regular upma is good but this one has a twist which mostly has bread.
Cut the slices of bread into squares.
Take a frying pan heat the butter to fry the bread pieces.
Now add the potatoes, chillies, onions, tomatoes, mustard and cumin seeds, hing and sprinkle some lemon juice on top.
Serve.
