Disney has officially found its magic duo for the highly anticipated live-action reimagining of Tangled. Following a global search and extensive screen tests in London, the studio announced on January 7, 2026, that the iconic roles of the long-haired princess and the charming outlaw have finally been filled. This new adaptation aims to capture the whimsical spirit and musical heart of the 2010 animated classic, which remains a cornerstone of the modern Disney Renaissance. With a creative team already in place, the production is moving forward to bring the kingdom of Corona to life in a whole new dimension.
The "Best Day Ever" has arrived for Disney fans as the lead stars for the live-action Tangled have been confirmed. Stepping into the shoes of the characters originally voiced by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi are two rising stars ready to bring a fresh energy to this beloved fairy tale.
The Australian actress, best known for her role as Raven in the DC series Titans and her lead performance in Netflix’s True Spirit, has been cast as Rapunzel. Croft was selected after a rigorous search, with fans already praising her "soft singing voice" and youthful look that aligns perfectly with the 18-year-old princess.
A Disney favourite, Manheim is a household name thanks to his lead role in the Zombies franchise. His background in musical theatre, including a recent turn in the Little Shop of Horrors revival and his natural charisma made him the standout choice to play the quick-witted thief.

On the production side, Disney vet Kristin Burr is steering the ship; she’s got a solid track record with live-action hits like Cruella and the Freakier Friday sequel. As for the script, it’s in the hands of Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, known for her sharp, witty writing on projects like Do Revenge and Thor: Love and Thunder.
