‘Kurangu Pedal’ was released in the theatres on May 3, 2024, and met with a mixed response from the audience and critics. Its digital release is all set for June 14, 2024, on Aha, an over-the-top (OTT) platform catering to Tamil and Telugu audiences.

Kurangu Pedal Plot

Set in 1980 in the small village of Katheri in Tamil Nadu, ‘Kurangu Pedal’ showcases a beautiful strong bond between a father and son. During his summer vacations, Santhosh Velmurugan asks his father to teach him how to ride a bicycle. However, after discovering that his father does not know the skill, he decides to learn it himself. The movie also delves into the raw and difficult village life and children’s giggles amid struggles growing up there.

‘Kurangu Pedal’ is a children’s movie led by Santosh Velmurugan as Mariappan. The cast includes Jensan Diwakar as Kudikaara Ganesan, Sai Ganesh as Songi Mani, M Gnanasekar as Theenipandam Selvam, VR Ragavan as Ice Soopi Needhi Manickam, Rathish as Andappulugu Anguraasu, Nakkalites Savithri as Savithri and Kaali Venkat as Natarasa Service Kandhasamy, according to IMDb.

Directed by Kamala Kannan, it has been produced by Savitha Shanmugam, Sivakarthikeyan and SuMee Baskaran under Sivakarthikeyan Productions. SuMee Baskaran is the cinematographer, Shivanandeeswaran is the editor and Ghibran composed the music.
