Vijay Sethupathi, one of the most loved Tamil actors, will be seen in his Hindi debut with the upcoming web series Farzi along with Shahid Kapoor. The series is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video on February 10. Sethupathi is also shooting for one of the most awaited Bollywood films of the year, Merry Christmas opposite Katrina Kaif.

Sethupathi made his debut in the Tamil film industry in 1996 in small uncredited roles and got his big break with his first lead role in the 2010 film Thenmerku Paruvakaatru. ‘96

Starring Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan in lead roles, the 2018 Tamil romantic drama film ‘96 is about the reunion of a 1996 batch, which is set 22 years later. Ram and Jaanu, two former lovers, can work out their concerns with their split thanks to the reunion. The film received critical acclaim for the script, direction, cinematography, music, performance of the lead actors and the nostalgia it evoked in the audience.

Super Deluxe

The 2019 Tamil film Super Deluxe has one of the career-best performances delivered by Sethupathi until now. He plays the role of a transgender person named Shilpa, who deals with social issues regarding morality, sex, gender discrimination, marriage, and life altogether. The film went on to premiere at several film festivals and Sethupathi won a National award for his performance.

Vikram Vedha

Starring Sethupathi and R. Madhavan, the 2017 Tamil neo-noir action thriller film Vikram Vedha has recently been remade in Hindi starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in the lead. Inspired by the Indian folktale Baital Pachisi, based on the famous Vikram Betaal, the Tamil version narrates the story of a cop (Vikram) who sets out to track down and kill gangster Vedha. The story unfolds after Vedha voluntarily surrenders himself and tells Vikram three stories that change his perception of good and evil.

Iraivi

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the 2016 Tamil crime drama film Iraivi revolves around three men who are trying to overcome their financial struggles and get involved in illegal activities in an effort to get ahead, unaware of the effects their actions are having on the women in their life.
