With Women Entrepreneur Smridhi Goyal’s Smart Watch Sekyo, Parents Are At Bliss

Amidst all the fields women are succeeding and shinning at, one of the rarest is tech. At the HZ Womenpreneur Awards, smart watch company Sekyo Innovations owner Smridhi Goyal bagged the Technology Entrepreneur of the Year award. “Necessity is the mother of invention,” she believes.

About Smridhi Goyal

Regarding what led Goyal to choose her career, she said, “Unfortunately, our nation doesn’t provide a very secure environment for kids. As per National Crime Bureau data ‘every 8 minutes a child goes missing in India’ – these stats are appaling. And as a concerned person, I wanted to do something to safeguard my kids.”

“Hence I brainstormed the ideal solution and came up with a smart watch that provides fun & learning to the child, and when connected with the parents mobile – it provides calling & live location tracking functionality with a suite of parental control features,” she said.

Goyal’s biggest innovation so far she says is “Launching a product like Sekyo that allows millions of parents to stay connected with their child and knowing they are safe!”

About Sekyo Innovations

With Sekyo, a smart watch, parents can monitor their children's whereabouts in real time, their vital signs, set an SOS alarm, and make two-way audio and video calls. It starts at ₹2400 and is made in India. It has parental control features like "Classroom Mode", which prevents kids from being disturbed during class hours, live monitoring and tracking capabilities, and Geo Fencing, which allows parents to set a safe area for their child to be in. The companies' goal is to be recognised as being synonymous with children's protection and lowering crime against women and children both in India and abroad.
