They captioned the video as, “She turned 80 — and celebrated it by jumping out of a plane.
With her son by her side.
Not just any son — but Brigadier Saurabh Singh Shekhawat, KC, SC, SM, VSM (Retd): decorated soldier, mountaineer, horseman, skydiver, and Chief Instructor at Skyhigh India.”
They further wrote, “Dr. Shraddha Chauhan marked her 80th birthday with a tandem skydive from 10,000 feet —
despite vertigo, cervical spondylitis, and prolapsed spinal discs.
She is now the oldest Indian woman to do a tandem skydive — and the oldest to do so within India.
A mother. A milestone. A moment that soared.
Courage knows no age.
Love has no altitude.”

In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Dr Shraddha Chauhan shared, “The desire I had in my heart, to fly in the sky like an aeroplane, today my son has fulfilled that wish. It's a very proud moment. When a gust of wind blew, I fell into a thoughtless state. I wasn't afraid of anything.”
Speaking about her health, she said, “I do get health check-ups done every quarter. I wake up early and practice various yoga asanas - Mandukasana, Tadasana, Gomukhasana, and Pranayama. A slipped disc is an old friend of mine, but after skydiving, the stiffness has reduced, I feel.”
A Bonding Adventure With Son
Her son, retired Brigadier Saurabh Singh Shekhawat, a decorated army officer and chief instructor at Skyhigh India, joined her for the tandem dive. In a touching Instagram video, he’s seen guiding her through stretches and warming-up routines before they boarded the aircraft.
