MSCHF are the makers and the creative collective responsible for the iconic launches in the world of fashion such as the big red boots that were seen strutting across the New York Fashion Week in February earlier this year, is planning a really small accessory as its next release. Trust us, it is the smallest ever you would have imagined.

The brand has even released sneakers with blood inside them and they are not strangers to yet another controversial launch. Only this time for their latest drop they are going for the very trendy microscopic mini-handbag. This miniature handbag is only slightly bigger than a bread crumb, we are not kidding!

On Wednesday, June 14 2023, MSCHF planned to unveil its ‘Microscopic Handbag’ that is a specklike take of the ‘Louis Vuitton On The Go Tote’. However, according to reports, MSCHF has not gotten permission from the ace French couture house to make this rendition, so this is not an official collaboration.

The measurements of the bag are 657 by 222 by 700 micrometers which make it smaller than a grain of sea salt and minute enough to pass through the eye of a needle. The ‘Microscopic Handbag’ from the collective MSCHF is an itty-bitty tote bag that is made of a photopolymer resin material the size of which is comparable to a speck of dust.

The fluorescent green coloured bag from afar looks like a radioactive poppy seed or a miniscule fragment of a sprinkle of a grain. It is only upon significant magnification that its translucent handles and Louis Vuitton branding and monogram become clearly visible. But trust us, it is not the kind of tote bag that comes in handy when you go out shopping to dump all your grocery and goodies. At most, it can only be used to carry around a platelet or two.

The chief creative officer at MSCHF, Kevin Wiesner who has placed the bag in the market as a commentary on the sheer impracticality of the ever shrinking luxury handbags was quoted saying in an interview, “I think ‘bag’ is a funny object because it derives from something rigorously functional.” He added that,“But it has basically become jewelry.”
