The first Monday of May is upon us, and Met Gala 2024 is less than 12 hours away. As I pen down these words, renowned international figures from different walks of life are gearing up for the biggest night of fashion.
The Met Gala 2024 theme is “The Garden Of Time” and as predicted by many, we will witness a plethora of florals on the red carpet this year. Keep reading to take a look at the best Met Gala floral outfits over the years.
What Is The 2024 Met Gala Theme?
The theme of Met Gala 2024 is “The Garden Of Time”, inspired by the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s latest exhibit, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion." The exhibit aims to “reawaken” historic fashion pieces curated in the museum. The guests will participate in a sensory experience, enabling them to reconnect with these pieces and look at them as more than just objects.
The dress code, “The Garden Of Time”, is derived from the short story by J.G Ballard. The story revolves around a couple living in a lovely home and their garden of "time flowers" that flourish and shield them from an oncoming mob.
