Recently Kim Kardashian went viral on social media once again. She was spotted hopping up the stairs wearing a body-hugging dress that had no room for flexible movements, not even enough to raise her legs to climb stairs.

This was during Milan Fashion week when the reality TV sensation arrived in a sparky Dolce & Gabbana outfit that she paired with silver high heels. She was seen holding the handrail tightly and hopping up the stairs. Some compared her bunny hops to the Pixar lamp.

The video went viral on social media, and people started asking the question if it was worth wearing a dress like that. A user wrote, “Honestly, a ‘comfortable to walk in’ version of this dress could have still looked just as good, what was the reason for all this torture.”

Most comments only pointed out that it was a ‘fashion torture’ that could have been avoided. However, the diva is known for making bold style statements often. In the past, she has gone out of her way to turn her body into a blank canvas for art. These pictures are proof.

Corset Dress For Met Gala 2019

For the 2019 Met Gala, Kim K dressed in a body-hugging corset dress. It appeared extremely tight around the waist and hips. Before putting on the dress, she said, “Wish me luck, I won’t be able to pee for about four hours.”

The tight dress did not allow her to even sit. According to a Vogue video, it took the labour of three people to squeeze her into a corset that cinched her waist enough so that she could have a ‘standard’ hourglass figure on display.

Her stylists also helped her fit into the nude Thierry Mugler dress because she could not have done it by herself. In the same video, Kim was quoted saying, “I’ll be walking around, mingling, talking, but I can hardly sit.”

While getting ready, she also added, “We’re coming up with a plan for what we do in case of an emergency.”

There were also rumours that she had her ribs removed to fit into the snug outfit, which she dispelled. However, it was a painful experience nonetheless. In an interview to WSJ Magazine, Kim revealed, "I have never felt pain like that in my life. I’ll have to show you pictures of the aftermath when I took it off—the indentations on my back and my stomach."

Kim made every head turn around when she arrived for Met Gala 2021 in an all-black bodysuit where even her face was covered. It soon became a viral meme.

People reported in an Instagram story, that Kim revealed, “Kendall (her sister) was calling my name, and I couldn’t see who it was, but I saw the outline of her sparkly dress.”

The reality TV star had worn Balenciaga’s T-shirt dress, spandex leggings, and a full-face black mask.

The beauty mogul shared with Vogue that she lost seven kilos in just three weeks to fit into the dress. While people on social media criticised her for portraying that everything is fair when it comes to fashion, her trainer spoke in her support.

Don-A-Matrix said Kim followed a balanced diet. “I think one of the misconceptions people have about Kim is she works really hard. I was there through the process, so it wasn’t like a starving herself type of thing. I mean she’s been on a balanced diet.”

However, later images surfaced on social media pointing out that Kim (Kim and Pete Davidson call it quits) trying to squeeze into the dress may have caused it irreparable damage. The dress couldn’t be fully clasped in the back, which is why she had to carry a jacket on the red carpet to cover the gaping hole. The before and after images pointed out missing crystals on the dress.

While it is always a person’s choice to decide what and how they want to wear something, Kim’s choices have always proved that she would go to any extent to make a fashion statement, even if it garners criticism or becomes a part of a meme-fest.
