During festivities or wedding parties, we women love to sport a stunning lehenga. It makes us feel nothing less than a princess. It is such a versatile and easy-to-carry ensemble that one can wear it all day long, and still won’t feel like taking it off. However, some feel conscious about donning it due to belly fat.
Getting rid of belly fat should be an individual’s choice. But, if while wearing a lehenga you feel like you want to hide your love handle, we are here to help. All you need are a couple of styling hacks to embrace your curves, while letting the onlookers focus on another great side of your body, instead of belly fat. Check out some of the easy-peasy tips!
Shapewear can totally change your style game. Be it winters or summers, wearing them underneath your dresses can make you appear in shape. When it comes to hiding your belly fat, the shapewear won’t magically flatten out your stomach but will remove the tummy rolls. To have a smooth appearance, will look more flattering, in comparison to rolls that might pop out of sides, especially after you eat your meal.
First things first, be confident in whatever you wear. No matter if it is a blouse that shows your midriff, or a backless piece, wherein you flaunt your back. However, if you feel like hiding your love handles, go for a full coverage blouse, and the choli style one. There are several designs that look stunning. Our personal favourite is a peplum-style blouse. Not only it gives the illusion of hourglass figure but also hides your belly fat.
When you want to give an illusion or smaller and slimmer body, never go for prints, patterns and embroidery that can make you look way bigger than you already are. Big flowers or aplic designs are a big no. They will draw the attention of onlookers towards that very area which you don’t want them to focus on.
Another great style hack that not only applies to lehengas, but to all your couture is that invest in more monochrome pieces. This will make you look light and in balance. Also, mind the colours. Solid hues will make you look slimmer and in shape, whereas, lighter ones might not look that appealing. However, also remember, how you look also depends on how well you carry your attire.
There are several ways to do this. You can either pair a statement jewellery piece, wear makeup, or go for a blouse that has some unique patter. For instance, if you wear an off-shoulder blouse, the focus will be your upper body. Hence, less emphasis will be given to what’s happening around your midriff area.

Indian girls love dupatta, the more the better! To hide your belly fat, don two light colour dupatta (must-have dupattas) along with your lehenga. It will not only enhance your entire look but will remove the trace of that belly fat. However, make sure there’s no or least embroidery on both. You don’t want the dupattas to take away all the attention, besides making you look heavy.
