DIY With Sarah Tyau: Upcycle Old Clothes To Sizzling New Wardrobe!

This blogress has magic in her hands! How? Her ability to turn the most boring oversized shirt into something beautiful and wearable for the stylish women of today is mind-blowing! Meet Sarah Tyau who is well known for her stunning clothing transformations. She has taken DIY's to the next level, and it is quite addictive when you sit down to see the before and after of all the items of clothing she plays around with.

Today many invest in new and expensive outfits but there are so many like me who would love to explore the ways by which I can save money, have something new in my wardrobe often and look equally stylish like the girls we see in those expensive and chic magazines. Let's take a look at some of the pieces Sarah has worked on.

Sarah says that this is a XXL men’s shirt which she had been contemplating -- what design to transform it into. She wrote: "Do you think I should recreate this crop top + skirt look in order to make a video tutorial for you guys or should I do a brand new design?". Well, this is what she made and wow! There are some examples to the way she has earlier transformed such big sized shirts into something so pretty! Let's take a look.

Besides turning frumpy dresses into fashion-forward frocks, Tyau has the ability to reimagine shirts, pants, and jackets as entirely new pieces. Like we can see above, the shirts have becomes entirely new dresses and more for her children. The change is for sure drastic but they are pretty seamless!

Ruffles add so much oomph factor but you can do your own creativity as well! Put some sequins, add a contrast lace and more. Check out what she did to a simple must-have black dress with some lace.

In an interview with a media house, Tyau said that she currently loves upcycling clothing for herself and her children, but she hopes her sewing skills can someday serve a bigger purpose.

She said: “Everything I do right now is a stepping stone to start my own clothing line selling modest clothes for women and girls that cater to their body shapes. Then that clothing line will be a stepping stone to fund in helping children in orphanages or in trafficking. I’d love for my clothing line to eventually donate 100% of the proceeds in this cause. I would not have a YouTube/blog/Instagram if it wasn’t for this big dream of mine, that’s for sure! But I know it is needed to get to my end goal.”
