The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 exam date and city slip schedule have been announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA). As per UGC, candidates who have successfully registered for the exam can now check the schedule and download their city slips from the official NTA UGC website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
According to the UGC notification, the UGC NET June 2024 exam will be conducted on June 18 in two shifts using the OMR (Pen and Paper) mode. The morning shift, scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will cover exams for 42 subjects, while the afternoon shift, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., will be for 41 subjects. As per UGC, the exam aims to award Junior Research Fellowships, appoint Assistant Professors, and grant admission to PhD programmes in 83 subjects.

The UGC NET June 2024 exam will be conducted in two shifts, with a total of 83 subjects. As per UGC, Shift 1 will include exams for subjects such as philosophy, history, commerce, social work, public administration, music, various languages, and more. Shift 2 will cover subjects like economics, political science, psychology, sociology, anthropology, education, management, and others.

The UGC has stated that detailed information regarding the City of Exam Centre will be released 10 days before the exam. "The notification regarding intimation of the City of Exam Centre will be displayed on NTA website(s) https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in and www.nta.ac.in, Prior to 10 days of Exam," the release read. The city intimation slip, which contains the applicant's name, date of birth, registration number, and subject codes, will be followed by the release of admit cards.
According to UGC, the exam pattern for UGC NET June 2024 includes two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. The total duration for both papers combined is three hours, and they consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
