Pregnancy is one of the special moments in a woman’s life and comes with its set of highs and lows. When you see your newborn for the first time and start caring for your child, nothing else matters in life. But for working women who have to take a maternity leave during this time and join later, a lot of things change when they get back to their professional life. Though we all are big time multi-taskers by nature, there’s a lot to handle at work for new moms which needs to be tackled to avoid any post-partum depression. You need to manage properly to deal with the stress of working for those long hours, being away from the child and feeling a bit lost as you try to catch up on the lost time. So whether you have plans to become a work-at-home mom or want to get back in the action at office, here are a few handy points that you can follow to make this transition as fruitful as possible for you and your family.

A few days before starting work, begin scheduling your day as if you are going to the office. This will help you a lot with time management.
Join Mid-Week At Work
Aim to join by Wednesday or Thursday so that the weekend is coming up and you can have a two-day resting period before taking the next week head on.
Take It Slow
If you are not becoming a work-at-home mom then try to work at home for a few days in between at least. This will help you save on the time of commute which you can use in other tasks of managing the baby or taking care of yourself. Sometimes post partum back pain and other issues can stop you from doing regular work. So take care.

Obstetricians usually recommend joining back work after a gap of 6 weeks post birth as it takes some time for the stitches to heal and postpartum bleeding to stop. Also, if you are wondering how to be a super mom right away, forget about it. Your body and mind still need a bit of relaxation. So ease into the routine and deal with issues one day at a time. It may seem overwhelming at first as you will experience day-time sleepiness and fatigue but all of this is temporary.
Planning to get back to work full time/part time or at home/office is a decision that varies from mother to mother. So it is best for you to take some time to analyse what suits you the best and begin this new journey of your life accordingly.
