The world's largest meditation centre, Swarved Mahamandir, was recently officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Umaraha, Varanasi. After the opening, he and Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, visited this stunning meditation building, which has 20,000 seats for guests at a time. The walls of the seven-story structure known as the Swarved Mahamandir have verses from the Swarveda. This temple is named after the Swarved, a spiritual text written by Sadguru Shri Sadafal Deoji Maharaj, the founder of Vihangam Yoga and an everlasting yogi.

In 2004, Sadguru Acharya Swantantra Dev and Sant Pravar Vigyan Dev laid the foundation. The Swarved Mahamandir occupies a vast 3,00,000 square feet of space and is located in the Umaraha neighbourhood, Varanasi. Fifteen engineers and six hundred labourers worked together on the building.
Architecture of Swarved Mahamandir
The beautiful intricate marble works and towering lotus-shaped domes are an example of the rich cultural legacy of the city, blending well with contemporary architectural features. With its impressive seven floors and 20,000 devotee capacity, the Swarved Mahamandir is a remarkable architectural marvel. The temple has 101 fountains as well as elaborately carved teakwood doors and ceilings. The walls are adorned with pink sandstone, and the grandeur is further enhanced by a lovely garden filled with medicinal plants.

During the inauguration of Swarved Mahamandir, PM Modi said, "The divine teachings of Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Gita and Mahabharata have been beautifully depicted through pictures on the walls of the Mahamandir. I was mesmerised when I took a tour of the Swarved Mahamandir. It is a modern symbol of the social and spiritual power of India."

It aims to "illuminate humankind with its magnificent spiritual aura and engulf the world in a state of peaceful alertness," according to the temple's website.
The temple carries Swarveda teachings, with a focus on Brahma Vidya, a body of knowledge that enables spiritual individuals to sustain a state of perfect Zen, which is defined by unchanging constancy in happiness and calm.
