After the state of Uttarakhand was created, which was formerly a part of Uttar Pradesh, Auli was marketed as a tourist destination. Auli lies on the way to the Hindu pilgrimage destination of Badrinath.

It is surrounded by coniferous trees and oak forests, with a panoramic view of the peaks of the Himalayas. The slopes are intended for both professional skiers and novices.

The weather here is quite pleasant but it can drop to as low as 0°C during winter. This place is a paradise nestled among the mountains of the Western Ghats, forming the border world of the greener part of Kerala. Clean and pristine, enchanting and hypnotizing, this land is filled with history and culture. Located at a distance of 76 km, from the sea shores of Kozhikode, this hill station is full of plantations, forests and wildlife.
