Sangodd Festival is the ultimate monsoon treat. This boat festival is celebrated by Goa’s fishing community on June 29, the feast days of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. Canoes are linked with wooden planks making a platform on the water surface. The boats are ornamented with coconut palms, blooms, and colourful balloons. Fishermen dance and perform skits to entertain the audience.

Chikhal Kalo Festival

Organised in June, Goa’s mud festival, also known as Chikhal Kalo Festival, celebrates the onset of the monsoon. Originating from the Village of Marcel in Ponda, Goa (Goan Street Food), it takes place around the Devki Krishna Temple and is dedicated to Lord Krishna and his mother Devki.
