There are no conspicuous signs to it, but in the longer run, stress can lead to a number of issues. The remedy doesn’t lie in a planned clinical treatment, there are some basic changes in one’s diet, which if resorted to, can have great benefits.

Banana

One of the most undervalued ingredients of the fruiting cycle, banana is known to alter one’s mood and ease the stress levels. The presence of amino acid tryptophan, which is converted into mood-altering serotonin, also fetches banana the title of ‘Happy Fruit’. Besides this the presence of Vitamin B, magnesium, potassium and natural sugars also keeps the glycemic index in place, therefore, controlling one’s nervous system and curbs one’s impulsive behaviour too.
Quinoa

If you are a health freak, the benefits of quinoa need no introduction. Loaded with calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium, quinoa is also loaded with copper and zinc. According to a 2010 report by Journal of Neuropharmacology, quinoa is loaded with anti-depressant properties, thereby bringing it into the bracket of ‘Happy Foods’.

Walnuts

Known for a plethora of medicinal qualities, walnuts are also known to keep your brain in control. In case you suffer from inescapable work stress, this is what you need to consume. Loaded with magnesium, phosphorus, and cell-protecting anti-oxidants, walnuts beyond altering one’s mood, also control blood sugar and insulin levels.
Spinach

And according to University of Maryland Medical Center, spinach a number of other green-leafy vegetables are loaded with ‘blunting magnesium’ which act like anti-depressants. So just so as to keep your mood balanced, consume fresh spinach on a daily basis.
Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolates are popular anti-depressants and mood regulators. The presence of Phenethylamine ensures that your brain is relaxed. Also, the presence of high flavanol content regulates your skin’s hydration and keeps it healthy and lustrous. However, just a word of caution, since chocolate is also packed with calories, consuming it in moderation is important.
